Financial Controller

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum (depending on experience) Location: Melton Mowbray Employment Type: Full-time, office-based (potential for flexibility/hybrid once settled in)

RP Recruitment Group are working with a growing international group of companies which is seeking an experienced Chartered Accountant to take on a pivotal Financial Controller role. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central part in strengthening financial operations across multiple jurisdictions, including the UK, EU, and US. You'll enjoy broad responsibility, direct access to senior leadership, and the chance to shape the financial strategy of a dynamic, multi-entity organisation.

About the Role

This position is ideal for a confident, fully qualified accountant with experience in complex, international financial structures. Reporting directly to the MD, you'll oversee the financial integrity of multiple entities, lead key system integrations, and provide insightful analysis to drive strategic decisions. You'll also manage a small finance team in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts maintenance across UK, EU, and US entities
• Lead the migration from Sage to Xero, including integration with Scoro
• Manage payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, management accounts, and year-end information
• Handle VAT returns, account reconciliations, and cashflow management
• Conduct profitability and risk analysis, including event performance reviews
• Provide tax planning advice and oversee FX and investment opportunities
• Deliver clear financial insights to the Managing Director and identify improvement areas
• Contribute to team development within a small finance team

What We're Looking For

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
• Proven experience managing multi-entity accounts, ideally with international exposure
• Strong knowledge of cloud-based accounting software (Xero experience advantageous)
• Expertise in UK payroll, VAT, tax, and compliance requirements
• Confident in producing budgets, forecasts, and detailed financial analysis
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with senior leadership
• Proactive approach with strong attention to detail and risk identification
• Experience in system migrations is a plus
