Finance Manager

Location: Oakham, Rutland

Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 + bonus + benefits 

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

RP Recruitment Group is delighted to be partnering with a leading company to recruit a talented Finance Manager. Based in their Oakham office, this pivotal role will support the company's financial operations and contribute to global growth strategies. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will become a key member of the Senior Management team, driving accurate financial reporting and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile company financial accounts at month-end, year-end, and for audits, ensuring all information is timely, accurate, and compliant with relevant accounting standards, legal regulations, and Group guidelines.
  • Ensure precise financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage month-end reporting, provisions, and journals.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts and board-level financial reporting.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and systems.
  • Handle bank reconciliations, cash flow management, VAT returns, Intrastat, and Office of National Statistics updates.
  • Oversee Credit Control and Purchase Ledger, resolving queries related to invoice processing, purchase order authorisation, pricing, credit notes, goods/services received, inventory accuracy, and ensuring timely collections and payments.
  • Assign appropriate credit terms for new and existing customers, conducting credit agency checks and releasing sales orders only after verifying accounts are up-to-date and within limits.
  • Support the Senior Management Team in forecasting and budgeting product costs and sales margins for ongoing and periodic business plans.
  • Provide in-depth analysis of product and customer profitability, advising on areas where margins have been impacted by additional operational costs or reduced sales prices.

Technical Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar finance role.
  • Strong commercial awareness, ideally with a proven experience in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrated financial and cost analysis skills in producing company and management accounts.
  • Experience in industrial management control, focusing on profitability analysis.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Excel-based modelling.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar role.
  • ACCA/CIMA qualified or part-qualified.
  • AAT qualified.
